Each night teams will play 6 sets of volleyball, 3 sets vs two different teams. There will be a time limit of 55 minutes for each 3 sets. For example team 1 and 2 will play at 5 pm and finish at 5:55pm. Team 1 will then play team 3 from 6pm till 6:55pm.
Rankings:
Standings will be decided by sets won and lost, If there is a tie in Sets won then the tie breakers will be decided in this order:
- Sets won Head to Head
- Points for/Against in head to head
-Win %
-Overall Points for/Against
*If there is an uneven amount of games played between two teams then Win % will be used for a tie breaker
League Rules:
-Teams must have a minimum of 5 players in order to play. 10 minutes after the match starts, if a team has less than 5 players, the first set of the match is automatically defaulted; after 20 minutes, if a team still has less than 5 players, the second game of the match defaults, and so on.
- If a team has only 5 players, then the 'ghost' rule applies (ie: the 'ghost' maintains its position on/around the court; when the 'ghost' moves into the serving position, it means an automatic loss of serve for that team; when the 'ghost' is in the front row, the team therefore has one less front row attacker) when the team loses their serve due to loss of serve they lose the point as well.
- Players must alternate positions male/female.
- Teams can choose to follow OVA substitution rules, or teams can sub all players (in a circular rotation) into the same set; the method being used must be indicated to the referee at the beginning of the match and must be maintained throughout the match
- Before the match starts, all players must sign the game roster to indicate their attendance - please PRINT player names legibly!
- Players must play at least 50% of regular season games in order to qualify for the playoffs – any exceptions (due to illness, injury, pregnancy, etc) are at the discretion of the league convenors
- Teams must provide their own practice balls; the league will provide game balls
- There will be no time allotted for warm-up between matches; matches will start and end exactly on time!

No back talk will be acceptable or tolerated. If there is back talk or players contesting the refs, there will be 2 warnings given, refs will be permitted to call the game and leave if this persists. In this case it will result in a forfeit for the team at fault and a fine of $150.
